CAOHC Audiometric Technician Training Courses
CAA's CAOHC approved training course for Occupational Hearing Conservationists runs a total of three days (20 hours). Dr. Robert Beiter is the CAOHC certified course director.
Full Certification Course
This course covers the basic principles of hearing conservation in the industrial setting. The relationship of these principles to the prevention of hearing loss and the reduction of company liability are stressed throughout the course. The following are examples of the course content:
- Hands on experience testing hearing.
- Ear examinations.
- Hands on experience with hearing protection.
- Federal and State regulations.
- Workers compensation.
- Anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the ear.
- Science of sound.
- Audiometer calibration.
- Noise measurement.
Refresher Course
The Occupational Hearing Conservationist re-certification course consists of a one day (8 hour) program designed to refresh basic knowledge and skills in the area of hearing testing, current OSHA regulations, and industrial hearing conservation program content. This course is intended for certified Audiometric Technicians who are nearing the end of their 5-yesr certification period.
