CAOHC Audiometric Technician Training Course. This CAOHC approved training course for Occupational Hearing Conservationists runs a total of three days (20 hours). Dr. Robert Beiter, a licensed audiologist, is the course director with assistance from CAA's staff audiologist.
Full Certification Course. This course covers the basic principle of hearing conservation in the industrial setting. The relationship of these principals to the prevention of hearing loss and the reduction of company liability are stressed throughout the course. Examples of course content included:
- Hands-on experience testing hearing
- Ear examinations
- Hands-on experience with hearing protections
- Federal and State regulations
- Workers compensation
- Anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the ear
- Physics of sound
- Audiometer calibration
- Noise measurement
Refresher Course. The Occupational Hearing Conservationist re-certification course consists of a one day (8 hour) program designed to refresh basic knowledge and skills in the area of hearing testing, current OSHA regulations, and industrial hearing conservation program content.
