Spirometry and respirator fit testing is provided on site at any plant location. CAA utilizes the latest computerized spirometers to ensure efficient and accurate lung function measures. Four employees can be tested simultaneously thus shortening total testing time. Any small office or room can be used.
Employees whose jobs require the use of respirators must pass a fit test annually in order to be certified to wear a respirator. CAA's fit testing protocol includes an OSHA required training session covering self-test procedures, equipment maintenance and proper respirator hygiene.
A graphic printout of Spirometry results is provided for each employee. Certification to use a respirator in the work place is based on the employee's lung condition (Spirometry results) and passing the fit test. Each employee's results is reviewed and signed by a licensed health care professional.
A summary report lists those employees who are certified to wear a respirator with additional recommendations when necessary.
