Annual Hearing Testing
Mobile unit at your facility using computer controlled audiometers with the flexibility to convert to manual testing for individuals who have special hearing issues or are apprehensive during the test. Up to six employees can be tested at one time.
Follow-up Hearing Testing
We will return to your plant to provide follow-up testing on specific employees who require it i.e. Recordable STSs, Medical referrals, and missed employees.
Portable In-House Testing Option
Hearing testing is conducted inside your facility using portable test equipment (computer controlled or manual) if background noise levels permit. We will measure the levels in the room of your choice to determine if portable testing is possible. This approach to hearing testing frequently saves money and is often more convenient for your employees.
The quality of your employee training is the KEY to an effective Hearing Conservation Program. Each year we create new, polished programs using power point or overheads which maintain employee interest. Our equipment can be set up in essentially any room or area.
A noise survey of your plant is an OSHA required part of your hearing conservation program. CAA The Hearing Place has surveyed hundreds of plants over the years and will conduct a walk-through of your plant (at no charge) to determine the need and cost of a noise survey.
Noise survey data is critical in the defense of worker’s compensation claims.
Hearing protection is the bottom line in stopping hearing loss. Unfortunately, statistics show that STS rates throughout the country continue to be far too high because employees do not wear their ear plugs effectively or at all.
Stopping hearing loss requires a snug fitting comfortable ear plug. The best way for most workers to achieve this is with a custom molded ear plug. Our Custom Molded ear plugs are convenient to make at your facility and last for years.
OSHA requires that workers wear a respirator in various hazardous breathing environments. Our on-site respirator safety program includes:
Spirometry testing
Respirator fit testing
Employee training
Records are reviewed by a Professional Licensed Health Care Provider (PLHCP - OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134) with respect to the employee’s medical ability to wear and be certified to use a respirator in the work place.
Vision Testing Program
Vision testing is conducted on-site at the client's facility. Essentially any room can be used as the testing is completely confidential even when others are present.
Far and near vision are tested. Color, depth perception, vertical phoria and lateral phoria can also tested if requested.
A report in Snellen equivalents (20/20, etc.) is provided.
